Meta Just Put a Price Tag on the Features Businesses Want Most

Meta's new subscription, Meta One, keeps the core apps free but charges for tools businesses lean on: clickable links in posts, scheduling, team access and AI replies. Here's what each plan includes.

The short versionMeta launched Meta One on September 15. The core apps stay free, but creator and business plans start at $14.99 a month (Essential) and $49.99 a month (Advanced). Advanced is where clickable links in organic posts and reels, 30-day Story scheduling, exportable analytics and team access live. Whether it's worth paying depends on how much of your business runs through Instagram and Facebook.

Instagram and Facebook are still free. But some of the tools business owners have been asking for now come with a monthly bill.

What Meta announced

On September 15, Meta introduced Meta One, a subscription service across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, with plans for individuals, creators and businesses. "The core experience across our apps and Meta AI has always been free, and that's not changing," Meta said.

What the business plans include

PlanStarts atHighlights
Essential$14.99/moVerified badge (pending verification), verified WhatsApp Business channel, more access to Meta Business Agent for 24/7 customer replies
Advanced$49.99/moStory scheduling up to 30 days ahead, links in organic posts and reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights, team member access without sharing passwords
Expert$149/moFor teams managing at scale
Max$499/moFor teams managing at scale

Meta says Meta One has launched more than 50 features and reached 15 million subscriptions and trials to date. Plan benefits, pricing and availability may vary by region, app and account, TechCrunch noted.

The feature that matters most: links

For years, "link in bio" has been the workaround for Instagram's lack of clickable links in posts. Links in organic posts and reels are now part of the Advanced plan. For businesses that sell online or book appointments, that alone could change the math.

Is it worth paying for?

A simple way to decide:

  • Pay for Essential if customers message you on WhatsApp or Instagram and you're missing replies after hours, or if a verified badge builds trust in your category.
  • Pay for Advanced if Instagram drives sales or bookings (links), if you plan content ahead (scheduling), or if someone else helps run your accounts (team access).
  • Stay free if you post occasionally and your sales don't depend on Meta's apps.

Our take: try the plan you think you need for one month, and measure it. Did clicks, bookings or reply times actually improve? If not, cancel.
